2) By your lines of reasoning, can we assume that the leadership of all companies with significant investments in China are in the back pocket of the CCP? Tesla?

There is no doubt that the cartels are in Canada, and our ports are vulnerable to Chinese precursor imports, and that the amount of fentanyl crossing the border from Canada to the US is higher than available data show, and that money laundering is a big problem in Canada. However in relative terms it pales in comparison with Mexico. Trump is using it as a smokescreen.
I think the issue highlighted in the interview is that Canada's tolerance for fentanyl is a symptom of the close alliance between China and much of Canada's political class, and the US doesn't want an to share an undefended and largely undefendable border with a China-friendly regime when the cold war turns ballistic.
